We won't participate in Gupta TNA platform - EFF

Fighters say they've been invited to Business Briefing to engage, along with other parties, with IEC chairperson

EFF Rejects IEC participation in a gupta TNA platform

29 January, 2013

Economic Freedom Fighters has received an invitation to participate in The New Age (TNA) Business Briefing which will be covered live on the SABC 2 Morning Live program this Thursday 30, January 2013. The invitation is for EFF and other political parties to engage with the Independent Electoral Commission Chairperson, Adv. Pansy Tlakula about the IEC and its preparedness for the 2014 general elections.

The EFF has rejected the invitation due to the fact that The New Age is a Gupta establishment. EFF refuses to directly or indirectly endorse the Gupta family which it views as a political entity that uses platforms like TNA and the Business Briefing to protect and advance Jacob Zuma.

Furthermore, the EFF will take action on the IEC participation in a Gupta platform which is a political and partisan establishment and will consider legal options which will include approaching the electoral court. In all their coverage and existence, Gupta platforms seek to campaign for Jacob Zuma because his children are shareholders in Gupta businesses and his wife is an employee. The Guptas are conflicted and cannot be the ones organizing platforms where IEC participates, unless if IEC has chosen to partake in conflicted and inherently biased political platforms.
