Zingiswa Losi suspended - NUMSA PE

Union says Ford Motor Company shopsteward and COSATU's 2nd DP will be appearing before disciplinary committee

NUMSA STATEMENT ON THE SUSPENSION OF NUMSA SHOPSTEWARD COMRADE ZINGISWA LOSI

The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa), Port Elizabeth Local has been approached by different media houses on the suspension of Numsa Shopsteward and Cosatu 2nd Deputy President comrade Zingiswa Losi. Indeed the union has suspended comrade Losi in her capacity as a full-time Shopsteward at Ford Motor Company.

A Letter of suspension was sent to comrade Losi on Wednesday September 26, 2013. She will appear before a Disciplinary Committee in line with the Union's Constitution and Disciplinary Code of Conduct.

The union will not be in a position to publicly deal with the merits and demerits of her suspension. We strongly believe that her suspension is an internal and organisational matter.

Statement issued by Bandla Mtshiselwa, Local Secretary, Numsa Port Elizabeth Local, October 1 2013
