Zuma arrest welcomed – AfriForum

Organisation says it will continue applying pressure on authorities to ensure that he is held accountable

AfriForum welcomes arrest of former president Jacob Zuma

8 July 2021

The civil rights organisation AfriForum welcomes the fact that former president Jacob Zuma was arrested shortly before midnight on Wednesday.

According to Kallie Kriel, CEO of AfriForum, the arrest confirms that justice will always prevail in the end, even though it sometimes takes longer than one would have wanted. “The public must continue to apply pressure to ensure that justice eventually prevails. This is a short sentence but at least it is a start in ensuring that Zuma is held accountable.”

AfriForum will keep an eye on the course of events around Zuma’s prison sentence and other cases against him and will continue applying pressure on authorities to ensure that he is held accountable for the charges against him.
