Mac Maharaj says NDPP afforded opportunity to make written representations pending final decision

President Zuma has written to the NDPP of his intention to suspend him

President Jacob Zuma has, in terms of section 12(6)(a) of the National Prosecuting Authority Act, (Act 32 of 1998), written to the National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP), Mr Mxolisi Nxasana, informing him that:

(i) Details of the Inquiry into his fitness to hold office are being finalised and they will be communicated to him in due course;

(ii) The President is considering suspending him with full pay, in terms of section 12(6)(a) of the National Prosecuting Authority Act, pending the Inquiry; and

(iii) The President has afforded the NDPP an opportunity for written representations with regard thereto.
