Reports of PEC's disbandment much exaggerated - ANC KZN

Sihle Zikalala rejects untruthful rumours around meeting between provincial and national party leadership

ANC DISPELS RUMORS ON ITS MEETING WITH NATIONAL OFFICIALS

09 JUNE 2015

The African National Congress notes with disbelief the negative and untruthful rumors about the discussions in a meeting between the National Officials and the provincial leadership of the ANC (see Citizen report).

The ANC National Officials held a meeting with the provincial leadership to discuss issues of unity and cohesion in the province.

The rumors of the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) being disbanded are unfounded and we have no idea where they emanate from. Similarly, the meeting was not about issues of the ANC Youth League congress as it is now rumored.

"This was the ordinary organizational meeting of the ANC which was scheduled last week. The meeting would have taken place even if there was no Youth League congress. Also there is no PEC that was disbanded. We are even surprised to hear something to that effect because there is absolutely nothing that could lead to the disbandment of the PEC in this province," ANC Provincial Secretary Cde Sihle Zikalala said.

If there are any issues about the ANC Youth League, they will be dealt with by the league. The ANC Youth League congress continued over the weekend and was concluded successfully.

The ANC is continuing with its work and it is disgusting that when we call our organizational meetings people look at them with a jaundiced eye.
