President Zuma appoints Thami Ka Plaatjie to SABC Board

President Jacob Zuma has, in terms of Section 13(1) read with section 13(8) of the Broadcasting Act of 1999 (Act 4 of 1999) appointed Mr Thami Ka Plaatjie as a non-executive member of the Board of the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).

Mr Ka Plaatjie replaces Mr Peter Harris, who resigned as a member of the board last year.

The President has also designated Mr Ka Plaatjie as the Deputy Chairperson of the SABC Board, in terms of Section 13 (3) of the Act.

"I wish Mr Ka Plaatjie all the best in his new responsibilities and we are confident that he will serve to the best of his ability," President Zuma said.
