Helen Suzman Foundation Statement Commission of Inquiry into the Arms Deal

The Helen Suzman Foundation welcomes the announcement that the President will appoint an inquiry into allegations of wrongdoing in the Arms Deal.

We trust that the President will be mindful of his Constitutional obligations to transparent and accountable government when setting the terms of reference and the composition of the commission.

The Helen Suzman Foundation stands by its view that the terms of reference of the inquiry and the composition of the commission will be paramount in determining the legitimacy of this inquiry.
