ANC Limpopo commends new ANCYL provincial leadership

Party distances itself from divisive actions of Youth League renegades

ANC LIMPOPO APPLAUDS YOUTH LEAGUE LIMPOPO CONFERENCE

The ANC Limpopo applauds the province's Youth League provincial body for holding a successful and well managed conference which has been peacefully concluded.

Over and above the top five leading officials; 20 Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) members and an additional 10 Ex-Officio PEC members comprising Regional Secretaries and Chairpersons of the Youth League were elected yesterday.

The five elected officials leading the PEC are:

Chairperson - Cde. Rudzani Ludere
Deputy Chairperson - Cde. Regina Molokomme
Provincial Secretary - Cde. Jacob Lebogo
Deputy Secretary - Cde. Romeo Mogotle
Treasurer - Cde. Kgomotso ‘Kabila' Malatjie

"We look forward as the ANC, to continuing our pursuit of the roll-out of the ANC-led government's programmes geared at ensuring improved and speedier quality service delivery in all communities of our province with a strong and harmonised approach; in partnership with our Youth League and other structures," says Makondelele Mathivha (ANC Limpopo Spokesperson).

Mathivha concluded: "That said we wish to firmly distance the ANC in the province from the divisive, mischievous actions of a group of so-called ANCYL renegades who are said to have held their own ANC Youth Conference elsewhere in Polokwane (see City Press report). If these people are indeed members of the ANC Youth League, we wish to urge them to desist from creating a negative environment that aims to divide the movement, deliberately causing disharmony and disunity. The ANC in Limpopo has functional, collaborative relations with its Youth League; one characterised by cooperation and unhindered support for the ANC's organisational programmes - benefiting our constituencies."

The ANC Youth League conference ends later today, Sunday, 22 April 2012.
