Court orders corrupt DA-ANC coalition in Tshwane to reverse jobs for votes appointment
24 August 2021
ActionSA is in possession of a damning court ruling delivered by the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Division, where the City of Tshwane is ordered to reverse the irregular appointment of former ANC – Councillor, Jabu Mabona, from the position of Regional Executive Director (RED), by the DA-led coalition government.
The ruling confirms that Mabona’s appointment in Tshwane smacked of irregularity and was the result of a corrupt and unholy coalition between the DA and the criminal enterprise known as the ANC.
The role was first advertised in December 2020. It is alleged that Mabona, who was still serving as an elected representative in the City, did not qualify for the role as advertised. It is further alleged that the role was then dubiously re-advertised with requirements adjusted downwards, in order to accommodate Mabona.
In handing down judgment, the honourable Lukhaimane AJ, ordered the City to, within 7 days, disclose the scores and notes awarded to each candidate in making the appointment and to pay costs for the application. The City has also been ordered to reinstate the contract of the role’s previous occupant. All of this must be done on or by Tuesday 31 August 2021.
