In memoriam: Eusebius McKaiser

Eusebius McKaiser was a friend and mentor to many at HSF. We were honoured to have him be an HSF Fellow: honoured that he thought to engage us intellectually, debate with us, occasionally disagree — always with his characteristic generosity and humour. He sought to puncture complacency, entitlement, lazy thinking. He was passionate about sharing his knowledge and skills and paving the way for those who came after.

Justice was not only an ideal for him, it was a practice to be lived. His contributions to our country are and will be far-reaching. To those he loved, and who loved him, we offer our deepest sympathies. Go well, Eusebius. You are in our hearts, your principled, fearless voice ringing in our heads.
