I've resigned as IFP national organiser - Albert Mncwango

MP says he was asked by leadership to step down from position with immediate effect

Resignation as IFP National Organiser

IFP National Organiser, Mr Albert Mncwango today announced his resignationfrom that position, with immediate effect.

He said:

"It is with regret that I have to announce that I have been asked by the leadership to step down as the National Organiser of the Inkatha FreedomParty with immediate effect in order to allow the party to implement certain transformational changes.

When I was appointed National Organiser of the IFP by the President, whichwas ratified by the National Council in 1998, it was formalising the workthat I had conscientiously and diligently been doing since the establishmentof the Party in 1975.

When I worked as the National Organiser of the Party I did so, more oftenthan not, under extremely difficult and risky political circumstances, whichat times put my very life and that of my family at stake.

I have led teams sent throughout the country to set up structures and ensurethat the influence and support of the IFP grows in every corner of theRepublic of South Africa. Because of the lack of resources and the fact thatI had other equally challenging responsibilities and commitments such asleading the strategic and important Zululand District and NongomaConstituency, it is, however, regrettable that one did not achieve more.

I am extremely indebted to my President, Prince MG Buthelezi, for the greatexperience gained and the opportunities of growth within the partystructures, which I will gladly share with whosoever is appointed as mysuccessor.

I remain a loyal and committed member of the IFP and will continue to servethe Party to the best of my abilities.
