IFP: MURDER OF ANC LEADER DISGUSTING

The IFP has expressed its chock and sadness at the news of the murder of the ANC's eThekwini Regional Secretary, Mr. Mdu Sibiya who was gunned down yesterday at his home in Inanda. Reacting to the news, IFP Deputy National Spokesperson Joshua Mazurka said:

"We were deeply shocked and saddened by the terrible news of the cold-blooded murder of one of the political leaders in KwaZulu-Natal who was the ANC's Regional Secretary, Mr. Mdu Sibiya. We are absolutely disgusted by such an act which is devoid of all ubuntu. Our hearts go out to the Sibiya family and the ANC.

"Sibiya's murder should be condemned by all decent South Africans, regardless of what may have been the reasons for his murder. But what is of grave concern to us is that Sibiya's murder is yet one among many indications that criminals have taken over the lives of innocent people in this country.

Because the law seems not to be as harsh, criminals have come to believe that they can act with impunity. We want to remind government that they have an unshakable duty to ensure the protection of all citizens of this country."
