Report shows DA delivering to rich - COSATU WCape

Tony Ehrenreich calls on DA to apologise to the poor

COSATU PRESS STATEMENT

COSATU is glad that the DA did the right thing and released the report that exposed there biased delivery pattern.  The Disclosure of Information act was used to force the DA to release the report (see here - PDF).

The report reveals the fact that communities in Khayelitsha, Mitchell's plain and Klipfontein are unhappy about the DA service delivery. More than half these communities have rejected the DA claims of good service delivery, whilst more than two thirds of wealthier communities are happy with the DA delivery.

Those communities now know that the DA delivers more to wealthier communities than they do to poorer communities, as demonstrated by the bicycle lane and the My City busses.

COSATU calls on the DA to apologise to poorer communities for their blatant prejudice against poor people by Friday 22 April 2011. Failing which COSATU will distribute the report to poorer communities and call on them not to vote for the DA given their disregard to the poorest of the poor

Statement issued by Tony Ehrenreich, COSATU Western Cape, April 14 2011
