EFF HAS FORMED A COALITION NEGOTIATIONS TEAM AND COALITION FRAMEWORK OF PRINCIPLES

Friday, 05 November 2021

At its Special Meeting convened today, 05 November, and following several calls from different political parties seeking to work with EFF, the EFF's Central Command Team has resolved to constitute a Coalitions Negotiations Team. The team is composed of the following:

- Deputy President Floyd Shivambu (Convener)

- National Chairperson Veronica Mente

- Secretary General Marshall Dlamini

- Commissar Hlengiwe Mkhaliphi

- Commissar Mbuyiseni Ndlozi

- Former EFF National Chairperson Adv. Dali Mpofu

The Central Command Team has also resolved on a framework of principles through which this team must engage in coalition talks. In essence those who have approached the EFF must be prepared to agree and support these principles and general commitments with deadlines. The framework is as follows:

a)  Appreciation of the EFF 7 non-negotiable pillars for economic freedom in our lifetime.

b)  Service delivery commitments with timelines particularly on land, jobs, water, electricity, flushing toilets, and care for people with disabilities.

c)  Anti-racism—meaning that whatever coalition is an outcome of EFF participation must not reinforce white supremacy and Afrikanerdom.

d)  An understanding that the EFF should exclusively govern in all municipalities in exchange of others, and where this happens, there should be agreement on oversight functions given to the collation partner(s).

e)  Non-interference in the appointment of municipal managers and all other senior managers.

f)   Publication of all the concrete agreements reached with coalition partners to avoid a perception that there are secret agreements.

g) Constant and honest engagement and reports to the people on the progress made on coalitions.

The Team must put timeframes to the following:

- Amendment of the Constitution to realise Land Expropriation Without Compensation in 6 months

- Creation of a State Bank in 12 Months

- Nationalisation of the South African Reserve Bank in 12 months

- Cancellation of Student Debt in 12 months

- Creation of State Pharmaceutical Company in 12 months

- Passing of lnsourcing Bill in 12 Months

- Die Stem must be removed from the National Anthem in 12 months

- Opening of Clinics for 24 hours, seven days a week

- Provision of Free Sanitary Towels for all

- Provision of Free Water and Electricity for all SASA beneficiaries

The EFF recognises the 2021 Local Government Elections outcomes as a key opportunity for Progressive Forces to secure historic gains in the general struggle of total decolonisation. We call on all who align themselves with the historic duty to restore the dignity of the black oppressed and working class majority to unite. We must come together on the basis of this mission, anchored in selflessness and integrity for the advancement of our country and its people!

Finally, the EFF will openly inform all South Africans of the all coalition talks and agreements in due course.

We reiterate our gratitude to all South Africans who voted the for the EFF.

Land and Jobs Manje!
