Helen Zille The Biggest Double Dipper

It is ironic that Helen Zille positions herself as the champion of morality and frugality but she continues to collect two salaries, one as Premier and one from the DA, essentially for the same job.

Cosatu believes that the reduction of perks of politicians is being reviewed by national government and Helen Zille's announcement in cutting perks is merely an election ploy.

This ploy is confirmed by the fact that she has not cut her own salaries as Premier of a R 1 000 000 and the R 1 500 000 she gets from the DA.

This double dipping is morally corrupt, reprehensible and indefensible in the context of deep levels of poverty that exists in our communities.

Cosatu calls on Helen Zille to follow Tony's example by taking a salary cut and stop perpetuating the extravagance of government officials in the Western Cape.
