ANC records huge victory in uMshwathi's Ward 12 by-election - ANC KZN

Sihle Zikalala says his party won all the VDs rendering its main opposition, the IFP, a useless political party

ANC IN KZN IS HUMBLED BY THE OUTCOME OF YESTERDAY’S BY-ELECTIONS

23 July 2015

With just under 12 months to go before the 2016 Local Government Elections, the people of KwaZulu-Natal are continuing to make the African National Congress (ANC) the only relevant political organization that carries their hope for a brighter future.

This follows another huge victory recorded by the ANC in the by election held in uMshwathi's ward 12 yesterday.

In this by election, the ANC won all the VDs rendering its main opposition, the IFP, a useless political party. "We have emerged victorious with very huge margins, we are decimating the IFP and making it an irrelevant political entity every day," said the ANC Provincial Secretary Cde Sihle Zikalala.

The ANC views this outcome as a formidable building block to next year's Local Government Elections.

We also note that while the IFP won the by-election held in Ntambanana’s Ward 5, the ANC’s support is drastically improving. In all the six VDs, the ANC had a very strong showing.

Since we took over the government of KwaZulu-Natal we have done an amazing job in bringing back the dignity of the people through building them proper houses with running water and sanitation, providing many of them with electricity and other very important basic services. It therefore comes as no surprise when people continue to place their hope on the ANC.

The struggle for the full emancipation of the people continues. The ANC will never rest until total emancipation of our people in the economy and all fronts is fully achieved.

We call on councillors in the wards led by the ANC in the province to continue putting people first. The ANC will continue assessing the level of work done by its councillors in all wards in the province.
