ANCYL a factory for ANC leadership

League says results of NWest and WCape ANC elections are proof of its influence

ANC YOUTH LEAGUE WELCOMES THE LEADERSHIP COLLECTIVES ELECTED IN THE ANC PROVINCIAL CONGRESSES IN THE NORTH WEST AND WESTERN CAPE.

12 February 2011

The African National Congress Youth League welcomes the leadership collectives elected in the Provincial Congresses of the ANC in the North West and Western Cape. The ANC Youth League also congratulates the leadership collectives elected and proud that the outcomes of these congresses reflect the positions of the ANC Youth League in the respective provinces.

We are particularly proud that ANC Youth League National Executive Committee member Kabelo Mataboge and former ANC YL National Executive Committee member Songezo Mjongile are elected as Provincial Secretaries of the North West and Western Cape respectively. Their election is a confirmation that the ANC Youth League is a factory for genuine, progressive and appreciated leadership for the ANC and entire National Liberation Movement.

The influence of the ANC Youth League in the election of the ANC is firmly consistent, and the outcomes of these congresses are evidence that the ANC Youth League is a critical body of opinion within the ANC. These outcomes also inspires hope on what will happen in the centenary of the ANC in 2012 with regards to generational mix and the perspective that will be held by the ANC Youth League.

We call on the elected leadership to work towards building unity in their provinces and consolidate a concrete, clear and focused programme for the victory of the ANC in the upcoming local government elections.
